Whew – It’s been a long time since I’ve bothered you all with a blog….
I’ve been Crazy busy, so I have missed my wonderful coding friends & family. The good news is that I have accepted a permanent position with a local OB/GYN office in the Boise, Idaho area.
In my new position, I am coding for Hospital based OB/Laborists, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and private practice OB/GYN surgery and delivery services. I have the honor of working with an amazing coding team and nationally known physicians and mid-levels. (lucky me!!!)
I am still doing consulting, coding and private education work through my personal business, Webb Services. So please don't be shy and continue to send to me or request coding help with any specialty. As you all know, Urology, General Surgery and OB are my fav’s…. but Ortho, Ophthalmology, Neurology, and Dermatology and Skin are fun too. I love both Inpatient and Outpatient based coding, so I guess I’m just a coding geek at heart! You can always check out my writing skills too on Justcoding.com through HCPro.
Over the next few weeks, I will be developing an ICD-10 overview session and hope to submit to the AAPC for CEUs. I would like to make this a 2 hr live session or possibly do this as an educational on-line format. Please leave me some feedback to see if this is something that you are interested in. I am also working to develop some 3 hour live sessions for specialty coding E&M (using the 97 specialty guidelines) , operative report dissection, denial appeals, and new technologies coding (robotic assisted, implants etc). The other area I would like to work on is to provide an ICD-9 diagnosis basics class (aprox 2 hrs) and a CPT basics class that would be aprox 6 hrs targeted for billing staff who are not credentialed but need to understand coding basics.
I realize that no one wants to do these things during the summer – but I am looking to put this together for fall/winter/spring sessions.
So…. now that I’ve enticed you with what’s in the future… Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting information on Unlisted code usage for inpatient, outpatient and office based services, robotic and computer assisted surgery technology coding and the usage of ultrasound.
To help in your quest for CEU's ...... Feel free to write a synopsis of what you learned from my coding cases and information, then submit to the AAPC for CEU credit!!! (be sure to check out the AAPC's rules on this)
Till then….. HAPPY CODING!
